This position shall form part of the planned Joint Venture between Osram and Continental which, subject to clearance by the relevant antitrust authorities, is supposed to be a standalone company with equal shares from both partners operating with a global set-up.

Both companies are planning a strategic cooperation in order to combine the strengths of both companies: Continental’s competence in the area of innovative lighting control electronics and Osram’s extraordinary know-how in lighting solutions.

Subject to clearance by the relevant antitrust authorities, on Day 1 of the planned joint venture “Osram Continental GmbH” strives to have about 1,500 employees in 17 locations and 9 countries worldwide with its headquarter in the greater Munich area.

Day 1 and start of operations including employee transfer into the JV would be after successful conclusion of negotiations and subject to clearance by the relevant antitrust authorities.

Position Summary:

Designs complex systems or products for Light Control Units solutions. Conceives system interfaces and business application. Identifies, analyzes and resolves system design weaknesses. Influences the shaping of future products by contributing to the architecture used across multiple platforms. Provides technical expertise for next generation initiatives. May also lead the System Architecture activites for individual projects.

Core Responsibilities:

? Develops and implement of innovative concepts and methods for creation of system designs.
? Develops the system architecture (feature/function definition, functional context, basic architecture, functional decomposition, physical mapping, etc) based on customer requirements.
? Support RFI and RFQ phases with development of high level block diagram based on customer requirements.
? Capability to lead the definition of basic hardware architecture (target topologies, primary chipsets, etc.).
? Integration of requirements derived from quality, functional safety and financial goals.
? Ensures alignment with electrical engineering, software and mechanical design with respect towards feasability, effort and cost.
? Support in acquisition process.

Analysis and evaluation of internal and external requirements:

? Clarify and refine customer requirements, involve internal stakeholders and work out possible implementations based on technical aspects
? Analyze and assess system requirements in development projects with regards to norms and standards
? Assess and edit continuous changes from internal and external stakeholders
? Work out deviations between requirements and quote documentation

Requirements Development:

? Development and implementation of innovative concepts and methods for specification and validation of requirements.
? Coordination and optimization of requirements interfaces towards the customer.
? Ensure completeness with reference toward customer requirements.
? Create internal system requirements based on technical conditions and/or stakeholder requirements.
? Approval of system requirements for a development project.

Local Technical Specialist in area of Light Control Units:

? Support Advanced Development and new technologies.
? Collaboration with SE/SyA WW initiatives.
? Technical guidance and support in product development.
? Customer presentations and demonstrations.
? Support of traning activities and coaching.
? Support collegues in improvements of work processes.
? Coaching of new employees.
Job Requirements     Required Qualifications:

? Required Education: Relevant BS Engineering Degree.
? Required Experience: Minimum 5 years developing in an automotive setting.
? Automotive Embedded Systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

? Masters Degree in technical field.
? 7+ years developing in an automotive setting preferred.
