Full Job Description
AWS is looking for an experienced Storage Solutions Architect to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Amazon FSx for Lustre. You will be a technical authority working closely with service teams to drive innovation and adoption while supporting field teams and strategic customers in HPC and GenAI use cases.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable diving deep into storage service internals with engineering teams and explaining complex architectures to technical decision-makers. You will partner with AWS storage service teams to influence roadmaps, document best practices, and drive feature adoption through technical content creation and industry event presentations.
Candidates should be technical domain experts in enterprise storage technologies, with particular depth in file and data storage solutions in the cloud. Previous experience with AWS is preferred. You will work closely with senior engineers and other storage specialists to develop comprehensive solutions for customer workloads.
In this role, you will partner with Storage Product and GTM teams to enable key technical use cases and drive service adoption. Through thought leadership, you will establish best practices, propose service enhancements, and create technical content that enables successful implementation of AWS storage solutions.
This role combines service expertise with strategic customer engagement. Travel requirements are approximately 25%, primarily for speaking engagements and technical events.
Key job responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical specialist for FSx Lustre, working closely with the service team to drive feature adoption and customer success
- Partner with FSx Lustre GTM/Product teams to develop and execute technical strategies that drive service growth
- Provide architectural guidance to customers implementing high-performance computing (HPC) and machine learning workloads using FSx Lustre
- Create technical content, deliver workshops, and speak at events to educate customers on FSx Lustre best practices
- Capture and advocate for customer feedback to influence the FSx Lustre roadmap
- Collaborate with field SA teams to support complex customer opportunities and technical challenges
- Mentor other SAs on FSx Lustre architecture patterns and use cases
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 6+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of AWS services, market segments, customer base and industry verticals
- Experience working with end user or developer communities
- Cloud Technology Certification (such as Solutions Architecture, Cloud Security Professional or Cloud DevOps Engineering)
The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
