At MetLife, we seek to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our customers and our communities.   The Global Technology & Operations group (GTO) is a diverse team of engineers, developers, business analysts, and project managers with the freedom to create innovative solutions to address core business challenges within MetLife.  This role will analyze, design, develop, and support enterprise application development solutions for actuarial, risk, and treasury.  The software engineer will be part of the Metlife's Integrated Actuarial Modeling Environment (MIAME) development team.  MIAME is a unique and innovative system that enables actuaries to run models on the Microsoft Azure cloud utilizing a controlled and auditable process.

    

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and support application solutions through SDLC using agile and waterfall models.

  • Implement code utilizing object-oriented design, SharePoint 2016/Online, C#, JavaScript, Custom SharePoint Web Parts, SharePoint Workflows, SharePoint Site Collections, jQuery, Web Services, SQL Server, and PowerShell technologies.

  • Estimate effort levels required for overall development considering coding, unit testing and review of code.

  • Liaise with product and implementation teams to determine scope and functionality of systems development projects.

  • Design and develop front-end and back-end distributed systems application features.

  • Independently conduct proof of concepts and present results to management.

  • Implement data integration with other systems using various tools/technologies.

  • Perform unit, integration and performance tests.

  • Perform requirements reviews, peer-design reviews, and peer-code reviews. 

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

5+ years of experience with .NET development (C#)

5+ years with related technologies: SharePoint (REST API, JSON, Client Object Model), and PowerShell

3+ years of experience with 2 or more of the following: JavaScript, jQuery
