Sr. B2B Accounts Manager

Work From Home: MA

Sony Electronics Inc.’s Professional Solutions Americas division has an excellent opportunity for a B2B Account Manager in the Education Segment Business Unit.   The opening is for Outside Sales in the Northeast market.  The exact territory will be defined based on the individual hired, but will likely include all of New England (CT, MA, RI, NH, VT, ME) and possibly New York City and Long Island.  This role is comprised of selling as well as market development in the Higher Education, Corporate, and Government market segment.  Primarily focused on AV Presentation applications, the core products of responsibility are LCD Business Projectors, ProBravia Flat Panel Displays, Pan/Tilt/Zoom Network Cameras and Sony’s Vision Exchange collaboration solution.  The Account Manager will be responsible for establishing and maintaining business relationships with key decision makers at universities and corporations within the territory with the intent to expand Sony market share. In addition, the ability to work with and develop strong AV channel partners is critical. A strong understanding of the Sony product portfolio and ability to position Sony solutions against competitive challenges is expected.  Additional critical tasks will be to provide forecast for existing business and drive internal activities with the intent of providing better customer satisfaction and increasing sales. The B2B Account Manager will interface directly with the Customer as well as internal marketing, engineering and demand planning groups in order to meet the goals and objectives.  The position will report to the National Sales Manager of B2B Sales.


  • BS degree is required or equivalent.
  • Must have 5 to 7 years related experience in outside sales
  • Prior experience with creating and executing major account penetration plans.
  • Must have a broad business background, strong problem solving skills, and demonstrated creativity in overcoming sales barriers.
  • Must be able to make professional and compelling presentations; communicate effectively to large and small audiences; and have strong organization and time management skills.
  • Consistent track record for exceeding company expectations.
  • Ability for Overnight travel is required
  • 60% travel should be expected.
  • Home office based within the territory.  CT or MA is preferred.
