In this exciting role as an embedded Software Manager you will have responsibility for planning, directing, and coordinating all activities related to the development of embedded software for medical devices. This position provides guidance to team members to encourage work productivity; makes sure timelines are followed by the software development group; manages multiple projects at once; ensures appropriate procedures and processes are followed when it comes to software development; represents the software department in meetings; participates in design control activities; monitors, evaluates and ensures the completion of tasks and projects; analyzes software requirements; implements design plans, reviews unit tests; documents software development; monitors status of developing software; writes, reviews and revises product requirements and specifications; participates in other areas of the software development process; and provides technical support to other company personnel.

A Day in the Life
Directs the activities of a scientific group in the research and/or development of an organization's products, projects, and programs.
Collaborates with others on the direction of basic research and development relevant to long-term objectives and concerns.
Writes and approves manuscripts for publication.
Develops strategies to ensure effective achievement of scientific objectives.
Monitors and evaluates completion of tasks and projects.
Oversees interdepartmental activities and research efforts.
Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
Plans, directs and implements all aspects of the company's design and development of software for medical device products.
Dynamically identifies strengths and weaknesses of team members and suitably make changes if required. Encourages team interaction, boosts employee motivation and recognizes team contributions Directs the development of new concepts from initial design to market release.Manages feasibility studies of the design to determine if capable of functioning as intended.
Monitors documentation maintenance throughout all phases of research and development.
Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
Drives risk assessment activities to capture critical parameters, and to assure proper testing will be performed.
Drives root cause analysis and countermeasures of product failures at a system or component level Must Have: Minimum Requirements
BS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or related field
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience
