Solves avionics/aerospace problems with conceptual designs, systems modeling, and fabrication of prototype hardware; design, develop, and perform systems engineering duties in the development/packaging of mechanical and electrical systems for Aerospace applications; lead a group of engineers to accomplish project goals; participate in customer meetings interfacing with Air Force pilots to assess user requirements to support fielding of major avionics upgrades; present and pursue ideas for internal and external research and development; participate in new business development activities including identification of new business opportunities, proposal writing, budget estimating, and customer presentations.
Requires a MS degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics with at least a 3.3 GPA. A PhD in Electrical Engineering or Physics is preferred. Requires a minimum of 7 years of engineering experience with a minimum of 3 years experience supporting or leading Air Force R&D programs in support of fixed wing aircraft to include Unmanned Aerial Systems (UASs). Must have a minimum of 2-5 years fight operations experience for Air Force weapon systems (such as F-16, F-15, or A-10) supporting flight test operations and/or combat sorties. Must be familiar with combat operations for Air Force Fixed wing aircraft; relevant experience working with Air Force Laboratory's required to support position requirements; requires experience in design and test in the Aerospace Industry along with military combat and flight test operations experience; must be able to work as part of a team, be responsive to dynamic business and market conditions and have client-oriented interpersonal skills; knowledge of controls, modeling, and simulation are desired; must have past performance executing project management responsibilities and interfacing with clients; must be able to travel to client sites to integrate and test systems; proposals and design presentations to clients is required; must be able to prepare technical documents.
