This analyst creates thought leading research within our Application Governance and Technology Practice for IT Leaders around the world. S/he publishes original research, speaks with clients directly, presents at global events and on-site for client engagements, with a bold vision for the strategic imperative for integration practices – how enterprises compose, aggregate, integrate and develop software applications and digital products as well as digitally collaborate with other enterprises.

S/he will have deep experience in leading application integration teams, insight into strategic technology trends, and deep appreciation for integration scenarios, patterns and principles, API strategies, API management, and leadership development for organizations across the spectrum of industries and maturity levels for application integration practices.

What you will do: As a Gartner analyst you will meet with clients every day: on the phone, in a video-conference, from the stage at a Gartner event or face-to-face during a sales support visit. In every client interaction, analysts help clients solve difficult (organizational and technical) challenges that lead to better business performance.

To support these conversations you will research markets, practices and trends, and produce research for Gartner clients apply to their mission critical priorities:

  • Conduct research and analysis in application integration and digital business strategies.
  • Deliver high quality actionable advice through a variety of media.
  • Write high quality, clear, actionable, advisory research documents.
  • Remain ahead of the curve on developments and issues within these specified areas as well as applicable adjacent areas.
  • Respond to client questions, create materials for and deliver to clients in person, via teleconference, video conference or webinar and event presentations
  • Maintain Gartner’s industry leadership reputation by responding to press inquiries
  • Proactively work with the wider sales organization and deliver outstanding sales support in order to retain and grow the business

Job Requirements

Gartner analysts are correctly viewed as THE experts. This means you need to know your markets, vendors, trends, management practices, etc. and be able to see the forest and the trees. Most Gartner analysts have many years of experience and enjoy solving complex problems.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in an application integration strategy, product management or similar role.
  • Experience in a range of integration approaches: B2B EDI, APIs, integration platforms, code-based frameworks. Knowledge of the API economy and experience in API management is a plus.
  • Great communicator – you help senior leaders navigate their most complex challenges. You enjoy seeing your ideas published online and having an opportunity to present them to an audience.
  • Natural collaborator – you have a natural affinity with others that care deeply about application architecture, application development, and enterprise architecture.
  • Strong business acumen – you’re energized by the techie but can readily see the bigger picture.
  • Bachelor's or equivalent experience; a Master's degree is preferred
  • Ability to conduct occasional travel, regionally and globally
