As a member of the Facilities Design and Construction team, the Sr. Project Manager oversees the planning, execution and management of capital and selected expense construction projects.

The Sr. Project Manager understands…

  • construction project management overseeing sensitive projects
  • design, estimating, bidding, evaluation, procurement, execution and activation activities for multiple concurrent complex projects
  • reads and interprets complex construction documents, service manuals and other technical documents
  • how to develop and monitor project schedules and budgets; reports on projectprogress to client and project staff and department management
  • how to effectively team with diverse staff throughout all levels of theorganization to determine project needs
  • timelines and budgets for large scale capital projects

A typical day will include …

  • establishing and validating project scopes for budgeting and execution activities
  • writing RFP documents for bidding; evaluating bid results for award
  • reviewing contract and change order documents
  • reviewing and approving invoices
  • coordinating project tasks with key stakeholders
  • reviewing submittals and provide authorizations for release
  • reading and interpreting construction documents
  • developing and monitoring project schedules and budgets
  • reporting on project progress to clients, project staff and department management
  • interacting with design teams, contractors and consultants

  • provide project management oversight of work performed by contractors
  • coordinate and integrate efforts with procurement, construction and activation teams
  • assure compliance with project designs, specifications and schedules
  • work with a sense of urgency; organize workloads to meet the demands ofcompeting priorities

You have …

  • A BS/BA in a related field and 8 years’ experience or a HS Diploma and 16 years’ experience with 4 years directly related experience
  • experience working in high pressure, client sensitive environments
  • an understanding of computer applications (PC- and network-based), including Windows, departmental e-mail, word processing, database, spreadsheet, projectmanagement and presentation packages
