The Air & Thermal Components organization within the Mechanical Systems & Components business has an opening in the Valve Project Engineering group for a talented engineering leader with a product development background. The successful candidate will lead a 5 - 15 member cross-functional team product development programs. This position includes responsibility for technical leadership, cost control, schedule execution, milestone management and customer/PM interface to meet key milestones and program objectives.


  • Will be responsible for leading multiple Pneumatic System projects
  • Responsible for developing engineering estimates, integrated schedules and milestones
  • Organizing and defining Development and Qualification Test objectives and procedures on design improvements to new and/or existing valves
  • Conduct root cause and corrective action investigations
  • Oversee test preparation and actual testing, coordinate activities to analyze test data and document test results, and prepare recommendations related to test objectives
  • Interface with suppliers, internal customers, and external customers
  • Manage program schedule and budgets, engineering resources to solve new product development issues and/or production / field service issues


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in engineering


  • Aerospace engineering experience
  • Aircraft systems, turbine engine and/or related aerospace mechanical component experience
  • Experience in Pneumatic Controls
  • Experience providing technical direction and oversight for project team[s]
  • Technical background in mechanical development programs
  • Technical knowledge of mechanical component products (valves, starters, etc)
  • Experience in Aircraft Systems and Honeywell IPDS processes AP-1235 and SRD AP-1034
  • Ability to work with teams to meet expectations of internal and external customers
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Skilled in conveying technical ideas and concepts through team discussions, presentations and in writing
  • Goal oriented in meeting performance, schedule and budget requirements
  • Monitors own activities and ensures, that tasks are appropriately defined, supported and achieved in a timely manner
  • Focus on customer needs, innovative, demonstrates a sense of urgency, consistent performance, communicates effectively, creates network
  • Problem solving ability
  • Plans multiple work packages, develops cost, integrated schedules and milestones for components and system developments
  • Primary decision maker for cost, schedule, and technical issues
