The Sr. Project Engineer plans, directs and leads the activities of complex engineering projects in a manufacturing environment to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within a prescribed time and within funding parameters. Interviews and selects contractors based on project requirements; establishes work plan for each phase of the project; works withinternal and external project resources to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities and scope of authority; reviews status reports with various departments and modifies the schedules or plans as required; prepares project reports and provides management updates; leads project teams with cross functional members to achieve successful outcome; demonstrates ability to effectively problem solve and negotiate with others to achieve project goals; exhibits creative and effective ways to resolve complex issues; utilizes professional concepts and expertise to analyze situations or data and provide meaningful evaluations; demonstrates a thorough understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures.
Coordinates the design and construction for the manufacturing facility. Leads projects for facility upgrades/renovations.
Leads projects to provide continuous improvements, set-up time reduction andidentifying inefficiencies and areas of waste in the manufacturing process.
Provides project management of capital expenditures. Coordinates project activities and resources with a focus on critical milestones to ensure effective and timely execution of projects.
Investigates new equipment and technologies in the pre-planning stages of a project and determine the appropriate equipment for the application.
Knowledgeable of plant systems; i.e plant utilities, facility equipment (HVAC, boilers, chillers, compressors, etc.), instrumentation and controls.
Prepares cost estimates and justifications sufficient to attain project funding. Manages project budgets and provides financialreporting.
Reviews technical reports and documents for accuracy/content and approve final documents.
Provides supportengineering for production.
Provides technical support and solutions for manufacturing related initiatives.
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering and 9+ years engineeringexperience in a manufacturing or industrial environments and/or experience in design of manufacturing or pharmaceutical facilities. Experience in GMP environment and pharmaceutical background preferred. A minimum of 5+ years of CAD experiencepreferred. Building construction and/or facilities engineeringexperience helpful.Code compliance experience helpful.5% travelrequired.
Professional Engineering license or EIT certification. Project Management Professional certification is a plus. CAD and General Building Construction desirable.
