The Sr. Programmer / Analyst will focus on Merchandising functions and the systems supporting those functions. This role will assist our brands in the technical implementation and ongoing support of the Oracle Retail Merchandising Suite. You will be responsible for actively participating in definition and planning of technical implementation requirements including configuration, development, integration, conversion, performance and testing.
Typically works on multiple small to medium IT projects that require increased skill in multiple technical environments.
Relies on past experience in addition to general instruction to perform the functions of the job.
Has advanced experience in systems analysis, design and a solid understanding of development, quality assurance and integration methodologies.
Develops solutions requiring analysis and research.
Coaches and mentors more junior technical staff.
Has expert knowledge on at least one functional system area in Oracle Retail Merchandising Suite and thorough working knowledge in other functional system areas in Oracle Retail Merchandising Suite.
Works closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. These solutions must be aligned with business and IT strategies and comply with the organization’s architectural standards.
Involved in the full systems life cycle and is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting, implementing, maintaining and supporting application software that is delivered on time and within budget.
Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing, and certification of software.
Makes recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code. Responsibilities may also include participation in component and data architecture design, performance monitoring, product evaluation and buy versus build recommendations. Has experience in systems analysis, design and a solid understanding of development, quality assurance and integration methodologies.
Support existing systems to meet Service Level Agreements and user expectations including user communication, system/job recoveries, system/job performance and documentation. Adhere to and insure compliance security, standards and controls are integrated into each system including Sarbanes, PCI and general audit computer
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
Typically has 4 to 6 years of experience in multiple IT areas.
Requires beginner to advanced level knowledge and understanding of architecture, application systems design and integration, as well as broad knowledge in other disciplines/ technologies/ processes that interact with the assigned function.
Has working knowledge of state-of-the art programming languages and approaches in designing, coding, testing and debugging programs.
Must be proficient in SQL, PL/SQL, Unix, Scripting, Oracle Forms and experience with Subversion (SVN), XML, J2EE and Web Services is beneficial
4 to 6 years of experience in Oracle Retail Merchandising Suite (RMS) – In depth knowledge of Foundations (Item, Location, Supplier) and hierarchies, Purchase Order, Inventory Management (Transfers), Stock Ledger and Stock Counts
Strong understanding and experience with Oracle Retail Integration Bus (RIB)
Working experience with SOA concepts and configuration of Oracle Fusion Middleware
Working experience with Oracle Price Management (RPM), Oracle Retail ETL (RETL), Oracle Retail Data Warehouse (RDW) and Oracle Retail Point of Service (ORPOS) beneficial
Working experience with Configuration of custom flex attributes (CFA)
Experience within the apparel retail industry preferred
At ease in working with customers, partners, and suppliers at all levels within the business
Outstanding communications skills; able to articulate complex technical topics for non-technical audiences.
