Role Overview This position is responsible for overseeing medium to large sized Head-up Display development programs. This individual will develop program plans, schedules, and budgets and is responsible for meeting company and customer objectives. This position will support strategic planning efforts, solutions for program problems, contract negotiations, and manages important vendors.

  • Primary Responsibilities Responsible for medium to large or multiple small programs ensuring adherence to program plans, schedules, and budgets for programs under their responsibility.
  • Manages the P&L of the programs to ensure profitability targets are met
  • Develops milestones, program plans, schedules and budgets for programs to ensure that the organization's objectives are met.
  • Consolidates and presents plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the program(s), and manages value-stream strategy and progress.
  • Employs robust risk management techniques
  • Monitors strategic planning efforts for medium and/or complex programs.
  • Demonstrates continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency and quality.
  • Identifies and reacts to program problems and recommends solutions, such as allocation of resources, changing contractual specifications, and coordinating responses to customer action items.
  • Supports the development of new business growth strategies.
  • Supports the negotiation of contracts and contractual changes, including coordinating preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements, operation budgets, specifications, and financial conditions of contracts to ensure legal compliance and to protect the organization's interests.
  • Directs all program phases from inception through completion.
  • Interfaces with customers for project specifications to ensure successful completion.
  • Manages the contract lifecycle, cost, schedule, and performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs.
  • Establishes cost-focused performance targets and directs work to achieve these targets.
  • Qualifications This position requires a Bachelor's degree in the appropriate discipline and 10 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 7 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Must be willing to travel (varies depending on program).

  • Preferred Qualifications: Established proficiency to identify and execute upon opportunities to work seamlessly with other functions, portfolios, and geographic locations.
  • Proven leadership in strategic thought, appropriate analysis, well-prepared contributions, and sound, timely decision-making.
  • Demonstrated embodiment of a positive, passionate sense of urgency and ownership and the ability to instill it in teammates and co-workers.
  • Disciplined aptitude with baseline scope control, financial management, and earned value.
  • Familiarity with Collins Aerospace Avionics Strategic Business Unit business and management practices
  • Execution experience with development and manufacturing programs.
