The EXP/AF Business Lead, reporting directly to the VP GM of the Geospatial Business Unit, is responsible for the overall Orders, Sales, Profit, Investment and program management of the Geospatial, EXP/AF Business Area and programs. This includes sales and product management of Experimental business area and programs.  The leader will focus on market and customer-centric strategies and execution to drive customer intimacy and reliance.  This leader must understand and interpret customer requirements, contracting and budgeting processes, direct program staff, as well as engineering, manpower, production and facilities to ensure full support of all Commercial Solutions Programs. Other duties include:

  • Lead P&L of EXP/AF focused programs
  • Aggressively shape, bid and win of EXP/AF pursuits including Beta re-compete and Framework re-compete – growth orientation is a must
  • Establish and implement a sustainable business growth strategy per above
  • Work closely with VP/GM to execute on strategic plans
  • Align internal investments to customers unmet needs at an acceptable rate of company return
  • Align discretionary budgets and expenditures to business goals
  • Fill opportunity pipeline and win viable pursuits to drive YoY growth and business sustainability
  • Manage portfolio choices to achieve business strategy
  • Flawlessly execute on customer promises and contracts in accordance with Harris processes
  • Drive efficiencies into business operations
  • Provide timely and accurate financial management and reporting to achieve quarterly and annual financial objectives
  • Lead and mentor employees to business and professional success
  • Develop and execute succession and knowledge transfer organizational plan

 

Qualifications: 

  • BS/BA, MS, MBA or equivalent with 15 or more years of experience in both Engineering and Program Management. Solid technical background with strong business acumen
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance required

  • Strong leadership skills; ability to lead large teams across a complex matrixed organization; develop broad, cooperative relationships with numerous groups and individuals, even without direct authority
  • Experience Planning, organizing, and directing.  Objective thinker, problem solver with ability to execute challenging tasks to completion.  Possesses quality values and work ethic. 
  • Able to provide/reinforce the credibility and commitment of Harris at appropriate executive levels within the customer community
  • Understanding of the customer procurement processes and government funding approval
  • Ability to make effective decisions regarding the profitability and achievability of pursuits
  • Ability to communicate in a thorough, clear, and timely manner which supports information sharing and goal achievement
  • Experience with the Business Acquisition Process in company working government contracts is a plus.  Experience with Harris’ Business Acquisition Process also a plus.
