Summary:

Supermicro is seeking a Sr. Product Manager for their San Jose headquarters. The ideal candidate will use strong technical skills to research server and embedded customer solutions and architect the system per customer requirement. The role will create aggressive go-to market plans, manage development of products with cross-functional teams to meet product schedules and quality goals. Additional duties include managing product lines of server or embedded motherboards, becoming a core member of the Motherboard Product Management team, engaging in technical, product development, marketing, and pre/post-sales support activities, and communicate with the engineering team on product definition and draft MRD/PRD.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):

  • Perform in-depth research into customer applications and feedback to engineering teams on how to optimize products
  • Manage products through their entire lifecycle until product EOL
  • Create product roadmaps and develop strategy for successful product deployments based on deep understanding of customer requirements
  • Coordinate operational activities with strong project management skills
  • Drive product quality improvement during design and manufacturing stages
  • Create positioning statements, marketing and sales training materials, and product specifications
  • Present training materials to internal sales force as well as externally at customer sites
  • Willingness to travel periodically to visit customers and attend trade shows
  • Conduct competitive analysis and develop ecosystem with partners in the industry
  • Drive technical issues to closure by arranging resources and engaging with other engineering teams to duplicate and debug
  • Serve as third level technical support and provide pre/post-sales support
  • Manage critical support situations

Qualifications:

  • BS in EE
  • 10+ years of engineering experience
  • 5+ Years of Embedded or Server Industry experience
  • Strong initiative and ability to work in a self-directed environment
  • Demonstrated strong organization and planning skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of how to successfully work in cross-functional organizations
  • Creativity to develop new strategies and solutions
  • Ability to lead extended teams and meet deadlines
  • Strong understanding of market trends and customer needs
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, strong communications skills (written, verbal and presentation skills), and ability to negotiate effectively
  • Excellent knowledge of  Embedded systems, Server, and computer peripherals is required
