The PLCM Analyst is responsible for overseeing the process and data integrity of a material as we end the product’s life. They will serve as the process owner from the time a decision is made to end a product’s life to the time that product is no longer available for sale or purchase. The PLCM Analyst will serve as a subject matter expert ("SME") of the end of life process, ensuring that all functions have met their deliverables when the process is initiated as well as serve as an educator to the business on how the process works. The PLCM Analyst will also have responsibility for determining the cross functional team responsible for ensuring that a material is no longer “on the radar”, reporting for materials within the end of life process, and communication on the status of the materials in this process.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • (100%) Responsible for managing the global end of life process for materials, including finished goods, components, and raw materials
  • (80% of 100%) Upon business decision to transition materials into the end of life stage, coordinate and oversee the business process for timely execution
    • Indirectly lead a cross functional team for the execution of each product’s termination in the system (lead monthly review with executives & cross functional partners)
    • Foster relationships with cross functional counterparts to ensure active participation and alignment in the end of life process
    • Identify team members for each obsolescence project based on knowledge of each function’s role and experience with those materials
    • Partner with each functional area to validate assumptions and agree on optimal execution plan to meet obsolete date
    • Monitor assumptions and progress to ensure team is on track to meet obsolete date and alert team if off track
    • Support the business with analysis of SKU performance through ongoing analysis to suggest marketing materials that should be nearing end of life
    • Run reporting and analytics as needed to gather all information related to materials that will be obsolete
  • (10% of 100%) Develop and maintain a global process, policies, guidelines and training for Material’s End of Life
  • (10% of 100%) Ensure mainteance & policy compliance for materials in the end of life phase
    • Materials have the proper statuses based on the end of life phase that a product is in and address any concerns that come up from the business where the system is not working as intended due to statuses
    • Perform periodic internal audits of Spectrum HHI Material Master statuses to ensure the active phases of a product’s life cycle are accurately reflected in the system

Education and Experience Profile

Bachelors Degree - any major related to operations, planning, product or process management beneficial

Experience working with product data as it relates to manufacturing/inventory (e.g. bills of materials, material statuses)

6+ years of experience with product lifecycle management (e.g. new product development to obsolete)

5+ years of managing product data preferred

Experience with product lifecycle management systems preferred

Required Skills

Strong problem resolution skills

Ability to prioritize issues with respect to business impact

Cross functional understanding of all aspects of product information (Manufacturing, Procurement, Warehousing, Product Costing etc…)

SAP or other ERP experience

Advanced Excel user

Ability to build consensus within the business in order to make decisions

Strong presentation / PowerPoint skills

Understanding of basic Data Governance principles and best practices
