Provide strategic planning, direction and leadership in direct support of BCBSMA integrated medical and pharmacy clients’ growth and retention initiatives for existing integrated accounts. Work closely with the BCBSMA medical Account Executives, internal SMEs and key stakeholders in assigned segment to provide pharmacy subject matter expertise and lead strategic discussions in achieving desired growth and retention results.
Candidate must possess a thorough understanding of the commercial healthcare marketplace and key sales drivers in order to lead our pharmacy value proposition to address our clients’ key business challenges.Key responsibilities:
- Lead the pharmacy strategy development for existing assigned BCBSMA integrated pharmacy clients to achieve retention, growth, profitability and satisfaction objectives set by BCBSMA.
- Understand the competitive landscape and effectively position pharmacy management programs, participating as pharmacy account management lead for best and final meetings, industry forums, and broker and consultant meetings
- Organize internal resources as necessary to support pharmacy growth and retention for existing, new and prospective clients, including engaging the BCBSMA Sr. Director, Pharmacy Sales for complex and/or competitive renewals
- Channel customer needs and expectations into larger organization’s priorities, initiatives, and services as applicable
- Lead pharmacy reporting discussions in partnership with medical Account Management team on a quarterly/semiannual/annual basis
- Demonstrates urgency and exceptional performance in leading and inspiring individuals toward pursuit of customer satisfaction in a rapidly changing environment
- Network, collaborate, and effectively expresses ideas (both orally and in writing) to individuals and groups at all levels within and outside of the organization
- Strong negotiation and B2B sales skills
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 7+ years’ Account Management within a health plan, PBM, pharmaceutical company or pharmacy consulting experience
- 7+ years working with both fully insured and ASO clients
- Strong relationship management, leadership and strategic skills
- Performs work with a high degree of latitude
- Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to lower level staff; may act as lead or first-level supervisor
- Health & Life License in MA (must obtain within 90 days of hire)
