SUMMARY

This position functions within the Corporate Real Estate & Workplace (CREW) Department and requires an individual with the ability to manage the complex space demands of various business units, and effectively operate in a dynamic, fast paced business environment.

The individual must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be team-oriented and maintain a positive attitude while providing occupancy and space planning support.

The Senior Occupancy Planner must be able to clearly communicate processes, standards and occupancy planning information demonstrating knowledge of responsibilities.

The individual can effectively operate in a dynamic, fast paced business environment, must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be team-oriented and maintain a positive attitude while providing occupancy and space planning support. Individual must be a self-starter, driven, demonstrating proactive/action oriented abilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish and maintain a strong relationship with key Department contacts.

  • Meet with internal departments to manage space requirements, reorganization updates, major project move planning as pertains to overall campus/portfolio strategy.

  • Develop occupancy solutions of varying scale and complexity, high level move options, and sequencing of group-level moves/relocations.

  • Develop space allocation block plans, options and schematic plans to meet short and long term plan and initiatives.

  • Ensures planning is aligned with corporate guidelines, regulatory policy, and that all scenarios align with target utilization objectives.

  • Assist in the development, implementation and on-going changes of workplace strategy & design guidelines to ensure alignment with corporate goals & objectives.

  • Recommends, educates and reinforces alignment of organization implementation of space policies/standards, procedures and protocols and notifies requested exceptions.

  • Assist and lead in the development and implementation of key processes, standards, procedures, and policies.

  • Lead and/or provide liaison support for cross-functional team coordination meetings with Capital Project Management, Facilities Management, Furniture Management, IT, and any other key stakeholders to ensure alignment throughout.

  • Provide space planning, facility management, project management and AutoCAD services included but not limited to programming studies, block plans, analysis of applicable work spaces, detailed AutoCAD drawings and other applicable information needed.

  • Performs analysis and comprehensive facility planning (e.g. opportunity analysis, options development, option evaluation, pro/con comparison, makes recommendations) including identifying opportunities to maximize efficiency on a building/campus level.

  • Monitor growth direction and projection for impact to established site strategies.

  • Review accuracy of employee data and building drawings in IWMSdatabase provided by the CAD/CAFM and HR database administrator/s.

    EXPERIENCE

    Required Skills:

  • Minimum 5-10 years of progressive advancement in facilities space planning, interior design, facilities operations and experience in project management and/or corporate planning directly related to the delivery of occupancy planning services.

  • Advanced Microsoft Office: Excel and PowerPoint, strong IWMS and basic AutoCAD skills necessary, plus experience with use of SharePoint sites

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills. Ability to distill complex information to the essential for decision-making.

  • Ability to comfortably interface with all levels of management and to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment.

  • Possess strong analytical skills, presentation skills and the ability to develop conclusions and recommendations.

Desired Skills:

  • Ability to understand complex ideas and communicate those ideas to others.

  • Established customer service skills to negotiate through Occupancy Planning and MAC’s space tactics

  • Experienced in the execution of benchmarking, industry trends and workplace innovation

  • Knowledge and ability to use analytical and problem-solving techniques.

EDUCATION

Bachelor or Master’s degree in architecture, real estate, interior design or planning, engineering.
