Job Description and Requirements

The MetaWare software development toolchain for the Synopsys' DesignWare® ARC® family of processors is used in a variety of market segments such as machine learning/AI, internet of things, automotive, industrial, storage, communications, mobile, and digital home. We have over 225 customers worldwide who collectively ship more than 2 billion chips annually. MetaWare is the primary way those users program those chips.

In this position located you will have responsibility for the following:

* Lead MetaWare toolchain engineering product development

* Plan, execute and deliver on the MetaWare tools roadmap

* Drive our frequent MetaWare product releases with organization, reliability and quality

* Provide high-value tools features to customers, and work with others to responsively support those customers

* Manage and grow a global, high-performing team

* Sustain good relationships with internal stakeholders including peer managers, sales teams, application engineers, product marketing managers, processor hardware leaders & senior management


* BSCS/MSCS with 10+ years of related experience

* Extensive experience and internals knowledge in compiler development or other tools-related technology

* Strong knowledge of C and C++

* Significant experience with processor instruction-set architectures

* Experience with software development processes: project planning, version control, bug tracking

* Excellent teamwork and communication abilities combined with savvy management skills

The following qualifications are a plus:

* Significant experience with open source development

* Experience with LLVM compiler development

* Experience with the implementation of embedded processor development tools

* Experience in technical leadership and/or software architect role

* Experience with VLIW/DSP/Vector architectures and programming models

* Experience with machine learning/AI/neural network technology & tools
