Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead a team of Logistics professionals responsible for specific categories of spend in excess of ~60 million for all of Aleris’ North American operations
  • Implement and execute logistics procurement best practices to optimize right combination of cost and service
  • Work with the team to develop logistics/category strategies, manage complex strategic sourcing projects, negotiate supply agreements, and develop supplier relationships in strategic areas of spend
  • Develop collaborative processes between Supply Chain and the operating teams at Aleris’ N.A. plants in order to drive improvements in cost and service
  • Establish and achieve EBITDA goals through effective supply management including market assessments, sourcing strategies, negotiation, and contract management
  • Work with team to plan and execute daily shipments to customers and between Aleris facilities on time, in full and cost effectively
  • Gather, document, and communicate market intelligence and forecasting for the business units
  • Develop and communicate periodic updates on price trends, supply constraints, and Aleris costs.
  • Communicate negotiated contract guidelines to all parties involved, resolve supplier performance issues

Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in procurement, supply chain, or logistics, MBA a plus        
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain, sourcing, procurement, or contract management
  • Demonstrated experience managing and leveraging multiple plant requirements
  • Proven effective leadership and management of direct reports
  • Experience with planning, managing, and applying complex quantitative analyses such as total cost modeling, demand forecasting, or production planning 
  • Experience with reconciling disparate and incomplete data sources to develop well-documented and supportable recommendations


Desired Qualifications:

  • MBA a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as demonstrated through team facilitation, coaching others, management presentations, project deliverables, and reporting
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and change management skills
  • Conflict management skills with the ability to constructively challenge stakeholders
  • Sharp analytical skills / ability to quickly & effectively analyze data & make sound recommendations
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills with experience in working through and around constraints
  • High energy with the ability to thrive in a fast paced, transformational work environment
  • Ability to travel approximately 10% to 25% domestically with occasional international travel
