JOB DESCRIPTION: The Senior Communications Manager oversees and manages complex communications initiatives that impact the strategy of Emory Healthcare. Works closely with entity CEOs and executive leadership to create detailed messaging for staff and physicians. Manages IS and physician communications projects with a variety of team leads from start to finish, offering creative solutions to disseminate complicated messages. Oversees communications for major IS go-lives, ensuring all impacted individuals are trained, educated and informed on changes that significantly affect their day-to-day operations and patient care.
Assist in strategic development, planning, and implementation of EHC integrated communications and promotions. Supervises editorial staff and provides on-going performance feedback, addresses problems, hires, orients and trains employees, verifies competency and identifies and suggests ways todevelop skills. Responsible for managing vendor relationships. Reviews and manages departmental budget. Provides approval for EHC announcements. Assists in the development of executive communications. Works cooperatively with designated staff to design and update communication materials and organize website to educate, promote, and/or enhance the image and services of the department or organization as a whole. Assists in developing short and long term objectives and action plans to complete objectives. Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, English, Marketing or other related field. Eight years of experience in the development of marketing and informational materials, writing/research, project management and/or information technology.
