Purpose of Position: The SR Manager of Professional & Organizational Development is responsible for the design, development and deployment of internal non clinical learning programs, using instructional design methodologies to create customized learning and development programs across the Cape Cod Healthcare system. This position is charged with building a comprehensive talent management capability that will drive CCHC s overall performance and serve as a competitive advantage for the organization. 

Description

  • Working with senior leadership, managers, and HR staff, assists with developing the strategic direction of ongoing non-clinical training, ensuring the workforce has the resources, knowledge, and skillset to optimally perform in an ever-changing healthcare environment; ensures learning and development strategy is aligned with organizational strategy;
  • Accountable for internal programs such as new employee orientation, onboarding, job-specific skills training, and leadership development;
  • Assesses system-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identifies, arranges, and delivers suitable training solutions;
  • Develops an extensive working knowledge of CCHC services to create learning programs with business context to drive knowledge and skills application;
  • Actively searches, creatively designs, and implements effective methods to support professional growth and development, and enhance performance;
  • Promotes learning and development as a strategic priority for managers and keeps it at the forefront of their minds, particularly as it relates to developing and engaging key employees and driving business success;
  • Ensures an outstanding experience for every employee who participates in training;
  • Develops, supports, and promotes programs to develop managers to their highest potential;
  • Leads and drives continuous improvement in training; fosters a culture of lifelong learning and development;
  • Engages and partners with cross-functional leaders and maintains collaborative relationships with subject matter experts to develop and enhance learning programs, and to address specific training needs;
  • Conducts follow-up studies to evaluate and measure results; identifies, compiles, reports, and acts upon metrics for training program success;
  • Develops and monitors spending against departmental budget;
  • Contributes to organizational communications such as newsletters to ensure employees have knowledge of learning and development topics, resources, and events;
  • Utilizing a variety of media, develops and maintains content for virtual and in-person programs, training materials, job aids, websites, and portals; ensures content quality, applicability, and integrity;
  • Exemplifies the desired culture, values, and philosophies of CCHC and ensures that this is woven into and reflected in all learning and development programs and materials;
  • Incorporates advanced instructional design principles in the development and delivery of learning program solutions;
  • Trains and coaches managers, supervisors and others involved in employee development efforts;
  • Provides internal consulting and arranges external education and training as required;
  • Works with expert third-party resources as necessary and appropriate;
  • Responsible for the learning management system;
  • Performs and completes other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Adult Education, Instructional Design, or other related program;
  • 5+ years in instructional design/learning & development, and progressive management experience;
  • Experience in building learning and development strategies tailored to business needs and culture;
  • Demonstrated experience in quickly translating learning objectives into innovative learning initiatives that engage and inspire people;
  • Creative individual that enjoys the challenge of building rather than maintaining;
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories and innovative training delivery methods;
  • Ability to consult with leaders and employees at all levels;
  • Superior facilitation and presentation skills, and in-person training experience;
  • Excellent project management skills; must be adept to keeping multiple projects and initiatives on track;
  • Experience with technical aspects of learning management systems;
  • Experience with course authoring software;
  • Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal);
  • Ability to work across all areas of an organization to understand the needs of the business;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong initiative and being a self-starter;
  • Articulate and confident standing up and delivering to large audiences;
  • Certification in coaching a plus.

    Schedule Details: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, day shift, occasional weekend and holidays.
