Sr. Manager, Product Engineering at II-VI Incorporated in Fremont, CA

We are looking for an enthusiastic go-getter type individual that will lead our Product Engineering organization. You will be responsible for driving performance, yield and reliability improvement projects for existing products and ramping up new products into production. The products include high-performance lasers and detectors designed and fabricated in Fremont, California. Strong collaborative and communications skills are required for interactions with customers, with the design, epi, process, and manufacturing teams, and within the product engineering group.

KEY JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Define, manage and monitor work progress within the product engineering group
• Driven New Product Introduction
• Interface with internal customers, in both NPI and production organizations.
• Drive scalability projects to ensure new products can scale with demand
• Identify and drive reliability, performance and yield improvement projects
• Provide data analysis and project management support to process, test, EPI and manufacturing teams
• Work with customers to identify and resolve downstream product and yield issues
• Support product failure analysis, highlight new failure modes and drive corrective action
• Own and improve product manufacturing and engineering infrastructure

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills required
• Proficiency with JMP and SQL database queries is a plus
• Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills required
• Optoelectronics or Semiconductor background required
• Good communication and writing skills
• Ability to work with cross functional teams to resolve integration problems
• 5+ years of Engineering management required
• 10+ years of Technical Project Management required
• PhD in Engineering with 10+ years of relevant work experience
