General Responsibilities:

  • By analysis of spend, building should-cost model, detailed understanding of the supply market and internal business requirements, develop and deliver packaging category strategy with the approval from internal stakeholders
  • Demonstrate compliance with procurement processes regarding e-tendering, Supplier Relationship Management including performance management)and contract management
  • Builds strong relationships with the stakeholders to ensure an appropriate strategy is developed
  • Lead multifunctional/multinational sourcing teams and projects to achieve contracts, orders or agreements that are aligned with the category strategy and hence deliver appropriate savings agreed with stakeholders
  • Provide expert external supply market knowledge across the responsible Category
  • Manage risk with vendors as well as achieve operational compliance across all direct Procurement activities
  • Deliver targeted savings ensuring no adverse impact on quality and time requirement
  • Develop and manage relationships with key suppliers including leading significant negotiations
  • Identify and communicate best practices and develop benchmarks that compare internal procurement performance to industry best practice
  • Ownership verification & agreement of actual financial performance of the Sub-Category, including agreement and verification of savings delivery, budget & forecast data
  • Act as an Ambassador of the Procurement organization
  • Directly manage strategic and critical supplier relationships where appropriate
  • Directly manage, or ensure management of, all significant contracts
  • Provide guidance and strategic direction to one analyst for the day to day maintenance of price, reviewing PPV, budget preparation and continue support to analyze the data
  • Lead the overall global supplier strategy and develop the preferred suppliers for long term by rationalize the supply base and optimize SKU.
  • Lead the supplier relationship management for creating and driving the value engineering innovations

Education:

  • Bachelors' degree in Business, Marketing, Operations/Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, or equivalent required
  • MBA preferred

Experience & Skills:

  • 7+ yrs professional experience required
  • Minimum of 5+ years procurement experience sourcing, negotiating, and leading procurement projects
  • Experience with procurement tasks for packaging category is preferred
  • Proven record of success in negotiations with suppliers 5+ years of progressive experience required
  • Previous experience of working within a multi-national, multi-cultural, global environment
  • Strong sense of ownership and sense of urgency, driven and motivated
  • Strong analytical skills proficient in MS Excel & PowerPoint; Ariba and SAP is preferred
  • Leadership of complex global projects, strategy development and implementation
  • Capability to quickly learn complex functional requirements and supply market dynamics
  • Effective communication and presentation competencies
