As the Sr. Manager, Manufacturing Engineering you will function as a subject matter expert and play a critical role in building the manufacturing strategy to support the development and launch of a new product within our Diabetes Care Portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of excellence and passion for developing new products/processes within the medical device industry.
This talented and passionate individual will be responsible for delivering innovative and practical manufacturing solutions that support various product development road maps. Defines the manufacturing strategy in support of new product development, preparing technical analyses and recommendations.
Drives Design for Manufacturing/Assembly (DFM/A) activities and process specification definition throughout product development lifecycle.
Builds and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers for specialty materials, finished goods, and equipment.
Conducts Make vs. Buy assessments and support COGS analyses for new products.
Manages and supports the management to capital and expense budget requirements.
Oversees internal and external resources, in the support of product development goals to deliver manual / semi-automated / full-automated processes for product assembly.
Ensures appropriately skilled resources are available to support the project needs.
Provides continuous coaching to all employees for the purpose of improving their job skills and professional behaviors, prepares and delivers full performance evaluations for all direct reports.
Regularly meets with employees and assists with the creation of individual development plans.
Makes technical and business risk decisions under real-time pressure.
Supports root cause investigations and manufacturing process improvements.
Supports 3D modeling and tolerance analysis of complex electro-mechanical systems.
Supports design reviews, FMEA’s, risk / hazard analysis and establishing manufacturing requirements.

Education and Experience Requirements:
B.S. degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Biomedical, or related Engineering discipline is required.
Masters' degree or MBA preferred.
10+ years hands on experience, in the fields of process and project engineering.
5+ years supporting new product development and delivering new manufacturing processes.
2+ years of experience with people leadership / coaching is preferred.
Experience in a regulated medical environment is required.
Experience working on complex electromechanical devices preferred.
Familiarity working with external contract design and manufacturing facilities is required.
Demonstrated experience in working on projects at different stages from concept through commercial launch is preferred.
Base Salary - $140,000 to $160,000
10+ to 15 years experience
