The Sr. Manager, Human Resources, collaborates with the HR team to deliver, develop, and support our people to achieve Saddle Creek's business goals. Manages one or more Regional HR team members. Contributes to building a competitive organization by performing as a strategic partner, administrative expert, associate champion and change agent.


  • Partner with SCLS leaders to:
  • develop and execute HR strategies that align with business objectives and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures and processes
  • create a positive working environment where employees feel valued, respected, and empowered to perform at their best
  • prioritize own and other's work to support SCLS business objectives and influence day-to-day decisions about people which are consistent with company values
  • Coach and advise SCLS leaders on human resources issues and processes
  • Lead strategic projects and initiatives
  • Serve as the primary HR resource and provide HR services for one or more assigned locations/organizations, including activities such as union avoidance, investigations, compliance, reporting, analysis, performance management, recruitment and selection
  • Identify and execute process improvements and cost reductions to increase effectiveness and perceived value



  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
  • 10 years of experience in HR roles with increasing responsibilities within logistics, manufacturing, or related industries, some of which must have included line HR generalist responsibilities
  • At least three years of experience supervising direct reports
  • Experience working within a non-union environment and executing union avoidance measures and tactics
  • Responsibility for HR operations in multiple states or locations
  • Ability to travel up to 35% within the United States

  • Ability to anticipate and analyze problems, resolve issues through creative problem solving and manage multiple projects with changing priorities
  • Knowledge of HR labor and employment law, and the ability to interpret, apply and articulate this knowledge in support of business initiatives
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
