Primary Job Functions:

We are seeking an experienced corporate marketer with a proven track record defining and executing on successful corporate marketing strategy. The corporate marketing leader will be responsible for developing creative and effective corporate marketing campaigns that drive ongoing momentum for the company, brand and key corporate initiatives that support a single marketing approach and language across the organization and with external stakeholders.

The position requires a pro-active approach with strong internal stakeholder service and communications skills; must cultivate and maintain effective working relationships with corporate leaders and their teams as well as the functional groups. They will also be responsible for driving a disciplined, systematic approach to global business development internal communications, and supporting internal reporting on behalf of the marketing team.

The successful candidate will become an integral part of the Global Marketing and Sales Operations team, contributing to the strategic direction of the global marketing strategy of the organization.

The corporate marketing leader will be responsible for developing creative and effective corporate marketing campaigns that drive ongoing momentum for the company, brand and key corporate initiatives that support a single marketing approach and language across the organization and with external stakeholders.

Experience:

  • Minimum of ten years’ experience in marketing, public relations, or related fields;
  • Experience in developing successful corporate marketing strategies, plans and campaigns;
  • International and multi-lingual marketing experience within a multi-national corporation desired;
  • Technical or industrial industry experience required; renewable energy experience preferred (solar experience strongly preferred)

Education:

  • BA/BS or equivalent; advanced degree a plus

Required Skills/Competencies:

  • Experience in developing successful corporate marketing strategies, plans and campaigns
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, and translate a business goal into a marketing strategy through effective planning and implementation
  • Ability to provide sound corporate marketing and messaging counsel to all levels of management (including senior leadership)
  • Exceptional relationship management skills with persuasive verbal and written communications skills
  • High attention to detail and exceptional aptitude for assessing creative and visual concepts and for reviewing copywriting and corporate messaging
  • Ability to work in a highly dynamic environment with tight deadlines and enforced compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated skills in effective project management and successful delivery of internal event strategies for large multinational companies
  • Proven ability to execute cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Orientation to analytics and understanding how to measure the impact of marketing programs
  • Excellent presentation skills, and ability to succinctly relay marketing objectives, goals and results through a coherent, compelling story
  • Internal/employee communications experience and a proven track record of successful internal communications marketing initiatives
  • Understanding of industry compliance regulations considered an asset

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and alignment of a corporate strategy to drive an overall awareness, affinity, and cohesive message of the First Solar brand with internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify and create strategies that enable the Marketing and Brand Communications team to implement the global brand position with consistency across all external platforms
  • Collaborate with and serve as a liaison between corporate functions and marketing; maintaining an overall understanding of marketing needs across the organization
  • Drive a consistent corporate image and message internally, by developing and communicating corporate marketing information to internal stakeholders, creating awareness of corporate marketing objectives
  • Partner and work with Internal Communications to support associate driven collateral, messaging, and campaigns that reflect the corporate marketing objectives
  • Working closely with Global Marketing and Sales Operations, manage the strategic direction of internal Global Business Development communications platforms and channels, i.e. team email and digital newsletter
  • Working collaboratively with Marketing and Brand Communications to drive continuous improvement across internal communication platforms and digital assets
  • Partner with Corporate Communications and Investor Relations to drive alignment of corporate message and priorities across outbound media and analysts programs and events
  • Produce strategies that support and elevate a consistent brand experience and message at proprietary events (Analyst Day) and industry events
  • Define programs that allow spokespeople to deliver thought leadership with peers and influential buyer segments
  • Manage corporate sponsorships and placements and nurture relevant external stakeholders to increase ROI
  • Supply strategic messaging direction and maintain oversight of all marketing materials for corporate functions to support company-wide story stitching and message consistency
  • Work collaboratively with the Marketing Team to ensure corporate strategy and related content is optimized and aligned with overarching marketing strategy
  • Work with Global Marketing and Sales Operations leadership to determine the global marketing investment levels, KPIs and activities
  • Work with Global Marketing and Sales Operations leadership to report impact on business performance across marketing initiatives to internal stakeholders, including senior leadership
