Overview:

Manage and lead a team responsible for global accounting functions (Contracts, General Corporate Accounting, Inventory and CashStar, a business of Blackhawk Network – a company with high transactional volume primarily in the financial services and gift card spaces.)

Responsibilities:

  • Manage period end reporting process including accruals and preparing schedules
  • Accurate reporting of financial results and variance analysis to Senior Management
  • Reconciliations & reporting processes to ensure integrity of transactions and accounts
  • Directs the development of process and gap analyses; understand and apply best practices; be hands-on to propose and test solutions
  • Establish and maintain operational procedures and controls; ensure compliance with US GAAP, SOX and other laws/regulations
  • Anticipate and ensure development and maintenance of robust, scalable shared service capabilities (processes, systems, internal controls, policies/procedures, organization and compliance) to support the company's growth
  • Leverage a solid understanding of settlement processes and systems to initiate and drive change
  • Proactively take ownership for successfully implementing all related financial controls, operational business processes, and system solutions
  • Oversees the development of cross functional processes/and or structures that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations and financial reporting

Qualifications:

· Degree in Accounting, Finance or related business field with 8+ years’ experience in finance or settlement operations

· 5+ years management experience preferred; able to manage cross-functional teams

· Public accounting experience preferred

  • Experience using both Microsoft Excel and Word at intermediate level
  • Ability to create and/or design reports within a business intelligence/reporting system
  • Understanding of project lifecycles and an ability to drive projects to completion end-to-end

· Self-starter with great attention to detail and follow through and who is resourceful and adept at managing through to reach a goal

· Enjoys a fast-paced learning environment and has an ability to understand processes end to end

· Effective leadership ability and communication skills, including the ability to work cohesively and diplomatically with team members at differing levels of skill and experience; be able to translate business needs into technical requirements

· Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic and flexible

· Can operate independently – maintaining exceptionally high standards with limited oversight

· Must have a strong attention to detail, motivated to ensure accuracy of own work and drive tasks to completion

  • Ability to think critically, work cross functionally to develop and execute creative solutions
