The Sr. Network Load Balancing Engineer is responsible for expert operation and support of systems hardware, software, and services related load balancing infrastructure. Tasks will be focused on monitoring, administering, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining enterprise network load balancing infrastructure. Must be able to manage urgent and complex issues by setting customer expectations, devising and implementing action plans, being available as required and professionally communicating to all parties involved. Exhibits exceptional oral and written communication skills necessary to communicate (technically and non-technically) with other team members; other technology services staff, customers, vendors, partners and leadership; Ensure successful and cooperative completion of tasks and projects and to resolve problems in a timely manner. Demonstrates ability to resolve problems effectively & efficiently required to ensure minimal disruptions & unplanned downtimes of assigned systems. Using established standards (or under the direction of an Architect), manage network load balancing infrastructure including physical, virtual load balancers, and supporting infrastructure. Serves as group contact after hours as part of an on-call rotation. Requires reliable transportation and mobile communications.
The ideal candidate will preferably have: 15+ years minimum experience in an enterprise network load balancing environment with both hands on administration and problem resolution of enterprise multivendor load balancing equipment required; 5 years minimum working hands on with enterprise ticketing systems, network monitoring tools, and packet capture tools; experience with enterprise proxy and SSL interception systems; a Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience; 2+ certifications from relevant load balancing products (currently F5 and NetScaler); 1+ information security certification (CISSP or equivalent); and CCNA or equivalent certifications in network operations and support; and ability to coordinate others in the support of systems.
10+ years minimum experience in an enterprise network load balancing environment with both hands on administration and problem resolution of enterprise load balancing equipment required. 3 years minimum working hands on with enterprise ticketing systems, network monitoring tools, and packet capture tools. Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP and other protocols including http, DNS, DHCP, and firewall policies. Candidate MUST have strong, demonstrable skills in following and appropriately applying established policies and procedures.
