Our client is a Connecticut based hedge fund with focus on asset backed lending. They are looking for an experienced Fund Accountant to join its team.
The Firm is an asset backed lending manager with multiple investment vehicles located in Darien Conn. The Firm is a registered investment advisor with the SEC and has been in business since 1996.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is self-motivated and extremely detail oriented. This is a transactional, detailed, team player role. The candidate will work directly with the Controller and other members of the Firm. Therefore, the candidate must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Reporting to the Controller, the candidate will manage the fund accounting of a variety of investment vehicles as well as the accounting for the Investment Advisor.
Indicative areas of responsibility include:
Review daily reconciliation of fund cash balances, positions, performance, payables and receivables, and shareholder records and activity prepared by the Administrator.
Manage collateral and cash management.
Oversee processing of fund administrator?s monthly net asset value and investor allocation calculations
Oversee calculation and processing of fees and other payments.
Oversee provision of data and support for marketing; assist in responding to investor queries.
Assist with annual fund financial statement audit process and related tax statement preparation.
Budget preparation, expense reporting, cash flow analysis and projections for the Investment Advisor.
Bill payment and journal entries using QuickBooks
Assist with managing service provider relationships.
Public accounting experience and CPA a plus
Minimum 5years fund accounting experience from a hedge fund
Strong working knowledge of MS Excel (e.g. macros, vlookups, pivot tables, etc.)
Strong sense of personal responsibility and ownership of projects and tasks assigned
Highly organized and detail-oriented
