Scope of Job:
The Senior Financial & Performance Analyst will assist in the optimization of EDFR’s operating assets by analyzing financial and operational data and developing advanced tools to support the Generation and Valuations and Transactions groups. Additionally, this position will liaison withRisk Management group regarding market activities and market exposure. This position will actively seek out value creation opportunities and advise senior management on investment decisions.

• Analyze DA/RT and CRR Auction bidding strategies, and through the use of machine learning and big data, develop advanced trading algorithms
• Identify market opportunities to enhance company financial performance
• Develop automated trading and settlement reports for Generation and VaT groups
• Develop BI tools to enhance trading analysis and trading execution
• Analyze plant operational data and identify opportunities for performance enhancement
• Develop tools to automatically identify, track, and resolve operational underperformance through the incorporation of AI
• Develop tools to automate operational and metric reporting
• Develop tools to assist Asset Managers in financial and performance analysis of their assets
• Assist Asset Managers in analyzing market variances on weekly and monthly basis
• Assist in automating financial and operational reporting
• Provide ad-hoc analysis to identify market opportunities to enhance company financial
• Other duties assigned

Education/Experience –
- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, or engineering
- Master’s degree in engineering or business
- Heavy experience with big data and some experience with artificial intelligence development
- 10+ years of data analysis and model development

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities –
• Expert in Java, JavaScript, Python, AWS, SQL, C++, Excel. Expertise in machine learning a plus.
• Expert knowledge of energy fundamentals and comprehensive understanding of various ISO market operations
• Familiarity with power plant operations and understanding of operational metrics
• Familiarity with OSI PI
• Basic understanding of accounting and financial modeling
• Ability to solve complex problems
• Ability to interact with senior level officials to present opportunities

Working Conditions:
95% of the time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of Java, Python, SQL, C++, and Microsoft Suite), telephones and general office equipment. 5% of the time spent in the field; meeting with appropriate financial representatives and others directly involved in the projects the EDF Renewable Energy is developing and financing.
