Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Financial and Business Planning Analyst to join Yamaha Motor Finance Corporation, U.S.A., in Cypress, CA. The Sr. Financial Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Finance division in all aspects of financial business management, including but not limited to: periodic long-term and short-term forecasting, strategic planning, consolidated and segment level reporting, financial modeling with profit/loss review and analysis, and financial product pricing development and modeling.  In addition, this role will support Sr. Management with special projects as they arise throughout the year.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparation and development of the Company’s Annual Operating Plan and Long-term Strategic Planning processes, specifically related to the development of future financial models based on past trends and expected future performance

  • Forecast and track monthly P&L performance of complex commercial portfolio and products, maintain databases, reconcile reports, coordinate reporting and data requests with vendor finance companies

  • Maintain and expand the use of data warehouse for strategic marketing and reporting initiatives

  • Analyzes monthly profit-and-loss results and reports on variances monthly to management

  • Research new business opportunities within Financial Services to included modeling and forecasts of P&L performance and participates on cross-functional process improvement teams to promote operational efficiencies and report results to Senior Management

  • Partner with Treasury management to develop funding plan and strategy; Evaluate and develop analysis to assess P&L and Balance sheet impact of baseline and alternative funding scenarios

  • Conduct ROI analysis to evaluate efficiency and effectiveness of various program projects

  • Review vendor operations and manage resolution regularly to ensure quality of service, including dealer/customer support groups, accounting/reporting, credit underwriting and collections/repossessions


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related discipline required. CPA, MBA or Master’s degreepreferred

  • 6–10 years of financial services / captive finance related experience and/or combination of experience and education

  • Advanced financial modeling expertise (SVA, DCF, and NPV analysis and modeling)

  • Solid understanding of accounting and corporate finance principles

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work on a team and collaborate with stakeholders

  • Ability to also work independently, with a high degree of accuracy, in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong organization, interpersonal and project management skills

  • Excellent technical abilities, including Excel, Hyperion, Business Objects, Bloomberg, SAP, Spreadsheet Server, PowerPoint
