The Senior Financial Analyst supports the North America Commercial team by providing relevant, reliable and timely discount data and analysis to key stakeholders.  Additionally, the Senior Financial Analyst will ensure all reserves and accounting entries are materially correct and performed in accordance with Corporate guidelines.


Job Function and Responsibilities

Customer Focus:

  • Partner with Pricing and Tactical marketing to develop, analyze  and estimate the cost of proposed discount solutions
  • Deliver information and reporting to customers in a timely manner, adhering to committed dates
  • Prepare, analyze, and review discount budgets and forecasts for operational and finance partners
  • Provide meaningful analysis and support for special projects and ad hoc requests

Data Management / Reporting:

  • Manage large data sets in a consistent, sustainable model
  • Translate complex data in to user friendly reporting tools
  • Maintain Discount Analysis detail file
  • Compile and provide detail for profitability reporting tool
  • Prepare financial evaluation of current discount spend 

Accounting Processes:

  • Prepare journal entries for discount reserve transactions monthly
  • Prepare monthly discount reserve test, ensure compliance with accounting rules
  • Prepare quarterly and annual reports for External Accounting, Tax and Audit
  • Evaluate current processes and identify opportunities for improvement

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS 

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • MBA or CPApreferred

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • 5+ Years relevant work experience including a minimum of 2 years business support
  • Advanced Excel and Access skills required,
  • Ability to prioritize and adjust quickly to changing priorities
  • Strong analytical/problem solving ability
  • Strong motivation for quality customer support
  • Working knowledge of JDE and HFM preferred
  • High-level of interpersonal and communication skills
