Opportunity and Essential Duties

LDG is offering the following full-time opportunity, for an Sr. Environmental Specialist. The Environmental Specialist will interact with clients, vendors, and staff to ensure project goals are met. This position also works as a member of a team to help identify and solve complex environmental issues.

The Sr. Environmental Specialist position will have an emphasis on hazardous waste management activities. This includes experience with subjects such as: Phase I/II/III ESAs, CERCLA/RCRA regulations, PA Fill Management Regulations, Underground storage Tank Laws, asbestos/lead sampling procedures, Air pollution permitting and controls, Spill prevention and cleanup, brownfields reclamation, remediation design and management. The ideal candidate will be well versed in both the technical aspects of this work as well as business development skills and opportunities.

• Performs and/or coordinates field work schedules to include preparing schedules and assigning tasks for staff.
• Interacts with clients, the public, design teams, and agencies.
• Closely tracks time spent on tasks and projects to ensure accurate reporting.
• Works closely with and fosters positive relationships among the team.
• Oversees preparation and submission of environmental reports and documentation.
• Recognizes opportunities for new projects and assists Technical and Project Managers with developing leads into new business.
• Provides oversight of technical staff and answers technical questions that arise.
• Participates in staff development and growth activities including existing staff management as well as new staff hiring..
• Participates in client development activities as directed.

Requirements

Experience and Education

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Biology, or related field of study; Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Experience: minimum 7 years job related experience.

Certifications and other Qualifications

• Wetland Professional in Training (WPIT) preferred, or Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) is strongly preferred, or ability & desire to obtain
• Occasional to frequent overnight stays. Local, extended distance, and overnight possibilities
