Role Overview

Our Head-up Guidance Systems facility in Portland is looking for experienced, talented and motivated System Engineers to join its engineering team developing a variety of advanced, state-of-the-art visual augmentation products for both the commercial and military aviation markets.

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be immersed in all aspects of the systems engineering lifecycle beginning with the analysis of operational concepts, requirements capture and decomposition, system design, development, integration, verification and validation. You may act as the lead for any phase of system development and should be comfortable being a technical point of contact for stakeholders both internal and external as well as being able to lead a small team to success.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Execution of the full systems engineering lifecycle
  • Development of system-level requirements and preparation of system specifications, system descriptions, interface control documents, etc.
  • Developing and communicating conceptual designs to stakeholders
  • Ensuring that all system interfaces are fully elaborated, understood and validated
  • Be a technical authority for other engineering disciplines during development.
  • Estimate, track, and report project costs and schedules. May lead cross-functional/domain teams in a Project Engineering role.

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position requires a Bachelor's degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Must have experience developing systems requirements/system design.
  • Experience in another engineering domain (SW, OE, EE, ME) prior to becoming a Systems Engineer required.
  • Avionics experience required.
  • Aircraft display systems experience preferred.
  • Experience with DAL-A or DAL-B development practices
  • Working experience of ARP-4754A and/or ARP4761 preferred.
