Sr. Electrical Engineer
The incumbent will perform complex assignments requiring the application of standard design engineering techniques for an entire project or selected segments of a complete project. The incumbent must be capable of exercising independent judgment in evaluating, selecting, and applying standard electrical design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to make minor design adaptations and modifications. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Plans and designs projects, following design, construction and government standards and works with Project Manager or as the Project Manager to determine scope of work, budget and staffing of internal resources
Determines scope of work for electrical design based on preliminary review of client expectations and needs
Prepares engineering studies and schematic design for new systems and analyzes operation of existing systems and presents reports supporting the design efforts
Coordinates with internal resources and assigns/reviews work of electrical project design team.
Actively participates in post design activities and represents the company in client meetings through phases of project through completion
Prepares proposals, fee estimates, and subcontract agreements.
Actively mentors junior electrical engineers and designers
Engages with other members of the company to strive to improve processes and procedures to increase efficiencies.
Acts as a leader in implementing and promoting health and safety requirements and guidance. Coordinates safe performance of work and appropriate safety training of the team. Following the Firm’s Safety Leadership Rules of Engagement, creates an environment to enhance a safety culture.
Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and 10+ years of qualifying engineering experience working in the engineering/design field; or
Successful completion of PE Exam, required
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Work effectively in teams.
Willingness to continue to improve.
Basic knowledge of the Firm’s proposal process.
Basic knowledge of the Firm’s financial reporting system.
