As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will develop and execute verification strategies for avionics embedded controller hardware used to operate rocket engines in space. - Graduate degree in related engineering or technical field with 15+ years of direct experience in the design, analysis, and testing of avionics hardware for operation in radiation environments - Experience with modeling tools and codes CRÈME, SCRIPT, MCNPX, GEANT4 - Experience with the use of commercial/automotive parts in a radiation environment - Direct hands-on experience developing unit test and measurement hardware; including automation and continuous integration verification approaches. - Exposure to verification of safety and mission critical aerospace flight hardware compliant with DO-254.
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field with 10+ years of direct experience in the design, analysis, and testing of avionics hardware for operation in radiation environments - Solid electrical engineering, digital and analog circuit fundamentals and lab skills - Proficiency with Python, Linux shell scripting; C/C++ and related software development tools for unit testing and automation; familiarity with continuous integration verification approaches. - Proficiency with use of Cadence OrCAD / Allegro (or similar tools) for custom board development, and Matlab / Simulink / SPICE for system and circuit modeling and analysis. - Highly organized team player with excellent technical communication skills (written and verbal) - Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
- Develop and execute verification strategies for avionics embedded controller hardware (boards and integrated assemblies that interact with sensors and actuators) including functional testing, acceptance testing and qualification testing of assembled units. - Develop test instrumentation and automated test equipment for Hardware-in-the-Loop labs, electronic hardware development, manufacturing, and production - Evaluate candidate parts/circuits with respect to the single event effect (SEE) tolerance - Recommend circuit/system level radiation mitigation approaches - Identify candidate test articles and define radiation tests - Scheduling, coordination, and conduction of radiation testing - Evaluation and analysis of radiation testing results - Generate unit level analysis based on available parts data, test data, and mitigation strategies - Support embedded controller risk analyses, failure modes effects and criticality analyses (FMECA), design for test/manufacture/cost (DFx), and root-cause analysis of test discrepancies. - Support rocket engine ground and flight test
