Abacus Technology is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer to provide infrastructure support for the US Forest Service. This is a full-time position.
Provide F5 BIG-IP Application Delivery Controller operational support. Perform troubleshooting (Tier-III Support) of application flows through and internal to the data centers. Provide engineering solutions to complex requirements for application flows. To include load balancing configurations, IP forwarding, SSL encryption/decryption, iApp development, application flow policies, and other F5 technologies. Attend and contribute to application architect review meetings. Evaluate F5 system vulnerabilities and determine mitigations. Plan, coordinate, document and execute F5 disaster recovery procedures. Plan, coordinate, document and execute F5 image upgrades. Manage and maintain F5 authentication and authorization configurations. Document application flows through and internal to the data centers, using graphical applications. Author, review, update, Standard Operating Procedure documents related to the F5 ADC. Coordinate with F5 support services when needed or required for assistance in incident or engineering issues.
5+ years’ experience F5 application delivery controller technologies. Must have experience with BIG-IP LTM, load balancing, SSL off loading, IP forwarding, virtual server configurations, high availability configurations. Advanced knowledge and experience with TCP/IP including analysis of TCP captures through utilities (i.e. Wireshark). Knowledge of DNS fundamentals, including diagnostics with local and internet based toolsets. Experience troubleshooting network flows through LAN/WAN systems to include routers, switches, and firewalls. Excellent writing and diagramming skills for technical documentation. Excellent business communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. Must be willing to travel to government sites as needed. Must be a US citizen.
