THE POSITION: Sr. Director, Showroom Expansion

The Sr. Director, Showroom Expansion will oversee the construction and renovation of all new and existing showroom locations, ensuring The Shade Store reaches its aggressive expansion goals. Working closely with the SVP of Retail Construction, this person will report on any variations in the construction process that may affect successfully meeting targeted opening dates as well as budget.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage internal Project Management team
  • Read construction documents to produce:
  • Material take-offs for owner supplied materials
  • Maintain design standards
  • Coordinator requiredwork with Architects, Contractors and Vendors
  • Maintain established constructionschedules in order to meet required store opening plan
  • Maintain project files
  • Accurately report any variations within project spending:
  • Approve/dispute change orders
  • Negotiate prices
  • Close out projects per The Shade Stores operating procedures
  • Build and maintain relationships with outside contractors and vendors
  • Partner with Store Design to maintain design standards
  • Ensure all operating and showroom locations meet safety standards

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Architecture
  • Minimum 7 years' retailconstructionexperience
  • Proven track record of completing construction projects on time and within budget
  • Understanding of design drawings and project documentation
  • Knowledge of standard quality, means and methods, and materials in construction/mill work required for a luxury environment
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Project)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to travel as needed
