Position Summary

The Director of Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs’ responsibilities will cover two main areas: The management and continuous improvement of the Company’s food safety and quality systems, and the consistent dedication and accountability to product safety strategies by internal and external liaisons.

 

Position Responsibilities

  1. Sets the quality agenda for the BP Operations ensures execution of a plan that delivers food safety, regulatory compliance, and customer delight.

  2. Responsible for the selection and development of top talent on the corporate and plant quality assurance teams.

  3. Works with peers on the Operations Leadership team to support the entire supply chain effort supporting the BP and BD business units.

      4. Instigate and provide on-going education and certification for all key operations & support personnel in respect of current, and future, governmental legislation, baking industry and in-house standards and trends.

 

Qualifications

  1. A Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or sciences is required. A Master’s Degree in a relevant scientific field is strongly preferred. Advanced technical or business degree is a plus.

  2. Strong knowledge of (and/or certifications in) food safety and all applicable regulations is required.

  3. Experience developing and maintaining company records relating to process work flows, recipes, equipment maintenance, USDA, FDA, and other regulatory organizations

  4. Thorough understanding of HACCP, GFSI, IFS programs/audit schemes

  5. Substantial experience in Quality and/or Regulatory – a minimum of 15years in total (with 10 years in progressive management or leadership roles) is required though 20years is strongly preferred.

  6. Ability to develop a quality system, including the ability to write policies and SOPs as well as mentor others in writing policies and SOPs.

  7. Experience creating and implementing a document control system.

  8. Ability to effectively articulate and present the company’s quality strategy to our employees, senior management, regulatory bodies and customers.

  9. Proven ability to operate successfully in a rapidly growing organization, inclusive of demonstrated ability to coordinate efforts in addressing regulatory issues. Ability to formulate solutions from a broad perspective.

     10. 10+ years experience in food industry required.
