Summary:

The Sr Director of Corporate Accounts, US Payers, is responsible for driving and optimizing market access results, primarily focused on US Payers (Health Plans, PBMs, IDNs), Pathway organizations, and other market access influencers, through a team of field based Corporate Account Directors. This team will execute brand access strategies and cultivate senior stakeholder relationships within targeted accounts, develop a deep understanding of individual customer needs, and identify mutually beneficial solutions through the creation and execution of account business plans. This position reports to the Vice President of Market Access.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Build, lead, develop, and support the National/Regional Corporate Accounts field team
  • Contribute to the development of the payer strategy, while educating and, where appropriate, negotiating with payers to ensure coverage for first and subsequent product indications
  • Build and strengthen company relationships with key stakeholders such as private and public-sector payers, pathway organizations, targeted IDNs, Physician Networks, and other organizations
  • Be the internal expert for the US Payer market, to include new policy development, alternative reimbursement models and other changes that could alter the payer/pharma landscape
  • Attend and support scientific and industry medical meetings, preparing planned post-meeting deliverables
  • Develop ongoing professional relationships with key decision makers in key national and regional payer influencers, as well as organized oncology health systems, to ensure access to Karyopharm medical and scientific information
  • Coordinate with field salesforce management on national and regional coverage issues and assist account team in obtaining formulary coverage
  • Ensure product and access strategies are executed for each brand across the targeted accounts and segments
  • Lead and direct account team on educational pull-through initiatives on clinical product profiles, patient management, and financial resources
  • Support integrated product and indication launch planning within target accounts and segments
  • Communicate effectively and coordinate with HEOR, Medical Science Liaisons, strategic market access, regional account teams, and Pricing function to create value-driven initiatives with target customers

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, required
  • 10+ years’ pharmaceutical experience
  • 5+ years of account management within managed markets
  • Prior leadership of field-based personnel within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Demonstrated understanding of US Payer landscape, specifically in Oncology
  • Demonstrated understanding of market access and the changing market dynamics in healthcare
  • Experience working with large national payers
  • Thorough understanding of FDA, OIG, HIPAA, and other ethical guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industry
  • Excellent strategic influencing, interpersonal communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to travel, including overnight
