The Senior  Director, Merchandise Planning is responsible for taking top line budget direction and effectively directing the sales, gross margin, receipts and inventory plans by department.




• Develop/supervise, consolidate and communicate comprehensive pre-season planning strategies that identify opportunities and risks across company departments

• Weekly analysis of item selling/total sales by department as it relates to the greater company targets

• Direct monthly OTB meetings, maintain by department, seasonal OTB, recommend necessary receipt flow/markdowns and follow through with CFTs

• Manage in-season profitability in order to achieve or exceed seasonal plans

• Recommend future receipt adjustments, capitalize on future growth opportunities

• Ability to forecast as well as run day-to-day operations

• Communicate planning strategies and opportunities to business leadership

• Collaborate with key cross functional partners to realize optimal profits for the Division, Company

• Responsible for the selection, development and retention of team members

• Mentor, coach and counsel direct reports on performance expectations



• 8-12  years of retail planning or financial analysis experience

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent

• Proven track record leading winning teams

• Results driven; strategic, conceptual and innovative thinker

• Expert command of retail math concepts, applications and statistical analysis

• Ability to develop realistic work plans, goals and schedules

• Detail oriented, with excellent follow-through skills

• Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills

• Strong prioritization skills

• Excellent organizational ability to support multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to work productively in a team environment

• Broad-based business acumen with the potential to grow in company

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
