  • The Global Solutions Architects are a strategic team within the Global Solutions Enablement (GSE) organization, which collaborates with various sales, business development, product, marketing and other departments within Equinix. The Solution Architects team acts as the primary technical conduit into Equinix's Sales and Service organizations. The GSE team launches various initiatives, including strategic product and services research, business case development, and product roadmap initiatives that are driven within Equinix and through joint-customer engagements. Because this leadership position is highly visible both within and outside of the company, the ideal candidate will possess an outstanding balance of leadership and management, self-motivation, senior technical skills, advanced client handling, and public speaking. This position will report directly to the Sr. Vice President of the Global Solutions Enablement Organization, who works directly for the CSO of Equinix.
  • Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and mentorship for the Americas GSE team.
  • Supports key partner initiatives in region – SVP Americas sales, GAM, BD, Product, etc.
  • Set and measure the Global Solution Architect Engagement Strategy and own the execution of the local GSE strategy.
  • Ensures alignment with key internal partners of the GSE team through engagement with the SVP of Global Solutions Enablement, CSO of Equinix and E-Staff on goals and principles;
  • Serve as a member of the Solution Development Framework (SDF) review committee;
  • Own the development and execution of Demand Capture, Demand Creation and Strategic Solutions activities for the Americas region
  • Possess technical subject matter expertise to understand how to intuitively work with both internal and external groups;
  • Work closely and effectively toward cross-functional alignment on the progress, budgets, and outcomes of the GSE team in region.
  • Understand the goals and position of the company to effectively develop and take part in the development of strategies to meet those goals;
  • Give significantly to the training, research, collaboration, and subject matter expertise at industry events for the overall development of the GSE organization;
  • Brief Industry Analysts & Press and maintain peer customer relationships;
  • Advise on strategic direction of research on meaningful technology trends;
  • Produce routine reports that highlight the accomplishments and impact of the team;
  • Effectively lead a global T&E (Travel and Expense) budget;
  • Execute overall programs and tasks via local resources (in region / country) to support sales activities across the global platform.
  • Actively participate as a member of various governance meetings in support of GSE and partner organizations representing Americas and the regional priorities
  • Handle internal and external partners and stakeholders for approved joint-initiatives with reginal focus and global applicability
  • Actively attend various tradeshows and represent Equinix as an industry leader.
  • Build a high-performance team and conduct routine 1:1 meetings with team members and others to ensure objectives are met;
  • Establish and run quarterly Management by Objective (MBO) goals associated with the team;
  • Travel 50% of time both domestically and internationally.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field highly desired.
  • 15+ years in the functional domains of Network, Data Centers, Enterprise IT Systems, including Enterprise Architecture and large scale / high complexity Technical Architecture implementation.
  • 12+ years of solutions selling in a commercial pre-sales position.
  • 10+ years of leading a technical team.
  • Innovative and consultative-based attitude balanced with mapping execution across multiple teams and perspectives.
  • Expertise in developing global solutions and packages for current and prospective clients on a global basis as well as driving the proliferation of Equinix services within a channel.
  • Candidate will exhibit confidence and influence when presenting verbal and written material.
  • Candidate will be comfortable speaking at conferences, acting as an authority in their field, and prospecting from industry events.
  • Candidate must be comfortable balancing all phases of a consulting engagement, and will ideally show potential to attract and lead additional talent over time.
