PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop deep understanding of and insight into the organization and its current and future business environment to identify opportunities and risks for the organization
  • Use insight to create talent and organizational development strategy, including but not limited to talent acquisition, succession management, employee development and retention, organizational transformation and capability enhancement, which enables the achievement of the overall global SPX strategy and business plans, and is also integrated and aligned with wider HR strategy
  • Translate talent and organizational development strategies into change programs or deliverable operational plans for execution across SPX
  • Engage and connect with network of external thought leaders, senior HR professionals and communities of practice in T&OD to keep informed of emerging research, trends and practice
  • Build credible and effective working relationships with senior leaders to provide expert advice, challenge and legal guidance
  • Champion a continuous learning approach to enhance organizational capability and foster innovation
  • Role-model a strong commitment to own professional development and create a culture of continuous and shared learning to build HR capability and talent pipelines globally
  • Lead, motivate and develop a small team of direct reports as well as HR professionals in the organization focused on supporting Talent Management initiatives. 
  • Hold senior leaders to account to ensure their behavior is aligned with SPX’s values and aims. Promote the value of diversity and inclusion by demonstrating the potential impact on organizational performance
  • Foster a culture of accountability (with decision making at the lowest effective level) and engagement ensuring the right talent, SPX processes and governance are in place to achieve this
  • Work with corporate functional leaders to assess, develop and manage their teams effectively.
  • Develop, manage and monitor budgets allocating funds to areas that will have greatest impact on the delivery of HR strategy and business plans
  • Lead the coordination of the annual performance management, talent review and HR leadership team processes.
  • Oversee and manage the corporate security initiatives as needed.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned

  • Professional expertise and knowledge to develop HR strategies which will have high impact and drive business success and to resolve complex and challenging HR issues
  • Deep professional expertise and knowledge to develop Talent and OD strategy
  • Deep professional expertise and knowledge in HR operational excellence to develop strategy
  • Proven track record of translating HR strategies into actionable programs or plans which deliver results and improve business performance
  • Proven ability to build effective partnerships with senior leaders and improve senior leadership capability through coaching, mentoring and constructive challenge
  • Knowledge of how to allocate HR resources and measure HR performance to deliver effective, business-aligned programs
  • Strong commitment to own professional development and knowledge of how to build a culture of continuous learning to develop HR capability
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to attract, motivate and develop a high performing team
  • Demonstrated success in leading complex organization-wide change or transformation programs by building commitment and countering resistance
  • Knowledge of the levers to drive cultural change and how to engender accountability at senior leadership levels
  • Significant experience in progressive HR leadership roles within a global business environment (ideally across a range of functions and businesses and in a matrix structure)
  • Significant experience of partnering with senior business leadership teams

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required Education / Experience

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration or related field
  • 10+ years’ experience in Human Resources in including Talent Management and HR Generalist support
  • Minimum of 3 years of management experience

Preferred Education / Experience

  • Experience working on a HR Senior Leadership team
