Our Opportunity:
Reporting to the Vice President, Total Rewards, this position is responsible for setting and defining the overall benefits vision and strategy as it fits within the overall Total Rewards philosophy and Employee Value Proposition. Responsibilities include the ongoing oversight of benefits administration including health, welfare, life and disability, 401(k), pension and Mobility programs globally. As we enter new markets, it includes establishing the benefits strategy, approach and execution in those markets. Additional responsibilities include global wellness and global recognition. Recommends process and program enhancements and participates in design change, particularly as we continue down our diversity and inclusion journey. Stays abreast of market trends, particularly in an evolving market. Ensures compliance with applicable rules and regulations. Responsible for successful benefit vendor relationships are in place, including partnerships with applicable benefit and retirement plan brokers in each country.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ensure competitive positioning of benefit/perk offerings, including health, dental, vision, life and disability;
- Key member of Benefits Committee overseeing the health and welfare plans, and member of the Investment Committee overseeing the various retirement and legacy pension plans, including retiree medical, and the applicable investment strategy
- Identify opportunities for cutting edge, innovative benefits based on market trends and employee engagement feedback, and develop appropriate business case for benefits committee
- Responsible for the establishment of mobility policies, which include the relocation programs (domestically, internationally, and short-term), the execution thereof, and the benefit plan designs of the expatriate population
- Responsible for creating wellness programs to improve employee health; ensures that wellness activities are being executed on a monthly basis
- Responsible for ensuring that escalated benefits issues are properly addressed
- Ownership of the overall global benefits budget, including medical spend (combination of self-insured and fully insured plans), and applicable risk management (stop-loss strategy) of policies
- Partner with broker on annual strategy and approach in each market for benefit plan negotiations and renewals;
- Oversee vacation, holiday and leave of absence policies, including the processes around leave management;
- Partner with payroll on ancillary local country benefits (transportation allowance, meal stipend, etc.).
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field, actuarial experience or background preferred
- 8+ years of progressive benefits experience in US, and solid understanding of Canadian benefits preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal rules and regulations as they relate to benefits management (i.e. ERISA, PBGC, 5500, ADA)
- Skilled in written, verbal and interpersonal skills with all levels of employees
- Ability to develop and administer budgets and financial reports; ability to analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions, and implement recommendations in support of goals
