The Senior Director, Imaging Services, reports directly to the VP, Diagnostic Services and works in collaboration with the Chairman of Radiology services and associated radiology medical directors, as well as with entity leaders (CEO, CMO, other key stakeholders) and imaging managers across BH and with BH imaging partners. He/She is accountable for the effective management and administration oversight of radiology services at all Baystate Health entities (BFMC, BWH/BMLH, BNH, BMC), as well Baystate Radiology and Imaging (BRI) sites and services. Radiology services include: Diagnostic Radiology, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Breast Imaging, Nuclear Medicine, Support Staff, Radiology Information Systems, Quality/Safety/Compliance, and Education.
The Senior Director develops strong relationships with referring providers and their staff, promotes and ensures excellent customer service, proactively assesses market trends and opportunities, and drives continuous process improvement efforts. He/She is also responsible for assuring that radiology and imaging services are provided in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with federal, state, local, and other associated accreditation entities and regulations.
This position is responsible for allocatation of efficient resources across multiple locations, prepares and maintains operating budgets, oversees development and implementation of policies and procedures, and directs overall staff engagement and development activities. This position will work closely with other leadership positions throughout the organization and must have a strong working knowledge of employee engagement practices, strong mentoring skills, and appreciation for diversity in leading others to success. This leadership role with be tasked with identifying operational improvements, and streamlining system operations for radiology and imaging functions across the system. The leader will also help to drive new programs/services, negotiate contracts and ensure appropriate management of budget and finances for the department.
Qualifications for this position include:
10 years management experience in clinical radiology setting. Bachelors Degree required, Master's preferred. Certification (Certified Radiology Administrator - AHRA) is also preferred. Candidate must have demonstrated leadership experience in managing radiology operations, leading a sizeable team (this role oversees 275 FTE's) and have led multiple site operations in radiology/imaging services.
