Essential Functions Include:

Responsible for design activities associated with air supported radomes, sandwich radomes, electromagnetic windows, etc. Responsible for ensuring design/build/installation meet contractual obligations.

  • Leads and supports technical activities for communication systems projects/contracts and ensures the performance, profitability, delivery, and quality of these products meets or exceeds company standards
  • SG technical point of contact on new project development activities (including program status, performance, profitability, and delivery)
  • Provides input to PM's as to performance milestones and monitor adherence to project master schedule plans and schedules to ensure timely and cost efficient project development
  • Drives the technical performance of project functional team elements such as procurement, manufacturing, quality control, engineering, materials, and administration
  • Directs supporting functional departments (Operations, Finance, Customer Service) to achieve business goals/objectives as they pertain to project design/development efforts
  • Maintain technical responsibility for the design through construction startup and customer acceptance of the project
  • Creates an environment that concentrates on continuous improvement (quality, lead times, etc.), cost reduction, efficiency improvements, HSE, and the highest level of ethics to serve the customer in the best manner possible

Perform structural analysis in accordance with applicable building codes to ensure compliance to specified standards and to support business as a whole with analysis

Perform FEA/FEM analysis in support of design activities for the business utilizing the applicable Saint-Gobain applicable software (Abaqus)

Lead and direct on-site installation/inspection efforts Worldwide in support of our contractual requirements

Requires extended travel worldwide

Provide technical support to sales team related to proposal efforts and customer meetings/visits to support increasing business growth


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degre in an Engineering Discipline to include: Mechanical, Structural, and/or Materials + 10 years experience in Engineering Design including both Structural and Modeling (FEA/FEM), required
  • Masters' Degree in an Engineering Discipline to include: Mechanical, Structural, and/or Materials + 5 years experience in Engineering Design including both Structural and Modeling (FEA/FEM),preferred
  • 10+ years CAD system utilization and competence, required
  • 5+ years formal technical presentation skills with large integrated customers, required
  • 5+ years worldwide travel, including hands-on construction work site, preferred
  • Seismic and/or Radio Frequency experience, preferred
  • Electro-Mechanical experience, preferred
  • Composite mechanics and material characterization experience, preferred
  • Manufacturing experience (hands on management role), preferred
  • Ability to work at heights as needed, required
  • Background in telecommunciations, preferred
  • Ability to travel approximately 50%, for project installations and additionally for customer visits as needed
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with all levels and departments of the organization
  • Strong problem solving capability, working with both customers and internal personnel on proposed solutions and applying them to the project effort
  • Working with large matrixed organization, preferred
