As a Senior Data Scientist you will work as a member of an Analytics Project Team within the Enterprise Analytics Accelerator (EAA) to generate high-value business insights on transformational, analytical projects. In addition, you will:

  • Act as lead Data Scientist for assigned projects within the EAA and consult on others
  • Work with multiple large, complex, diverse data sets and perform appropriate analytical methodology to provide insights and decision modeling for the specified Accelerator projects
  • Create and implement algorithms which manage the data to enable it to be analyzed in an efficient manner and to enable analytical repeatability
  • Lead the identification of the required data sources and work with the EAA Data Wrangler to implement methodologies to retrieve and use this data
  • Lead the communication of derived insights in such a manner easily understandable by business partners, especially through appropriate visualization techniques. Explain implementation and usage in business terms
  • Proactively stay up-to-date with the latest appropriate analytical techniques and recommend these where needed, especially from academia
  • Sr Data Scientist will work closely with the Data Infrastructure teams to ensure data is stored efficiently and in such a way to facilitate the required analytics
  • Proactively apply analytical techniques to prospect for business insights and find patterns in data which could be valuable for the business
  • Act as technical specialist for IT Domain management for all matters concerning analytical techniques
  • Take the lead role in assessing third party analytic platforms
  • Play a lead role in advancing the business transformation of the Enterprise through analytics, for example through discussions with the Analytics Leadership Team (ALT)

What Skills You Need

  • In-depth knowledge of current analytical platforms with the ability to utilize these fully independently
  • 5+ years of experienceapplying statistical analyses and analytical methodologies on advanced analytics projects,
  • Ability to demonstrate your development of algorithms and predictive models to solve business issues
  • 2+ years of experience working on cross-functional projects
  • Ability to understand quickly the various business processes currently utilized in a Manufacturing Enterprise environment
  • Ability to communicate complex analytical insights in a manner which is clearly understandable by business partners
  • Higher level proficiency in using SQL, SAS, R, Python
  • Ability to demonstrate a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical experience in statistical and analytical techniques

Other areas of experience or interest that will help us place you on the right team include:

  • Experience in working in multi-disciplinary teams across various Business Units, geographies and cultures
  • Demonstrate external publications in the field of data and analytics
  • Experience leading multi-functional project teams, especially following the Agile methodology
  • Ability to tell a clear business story from the analytics
  • Machine Learning experience


Ideally, the Sr Data Scientist will have a degree or equivalent work experience in the following:

An Advanced Degree in a relevant study area is required (e.g. mathematics, statistics, advanced analytics)
