Primary Purpose:

Responsible for the development of analytics and insights within the Marketing function, operationalizing of those and other research, testing or model outputs, and the build and evolution of marketing database systems, to enable improved marketing program results.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research Marketing trends and insights of all retail distribution brands that can drive strategy development
  • Drive tracking and/or operationalizing of model, testing or research outputs working cross-functionally across the enterprise
  • Develop Marketing's management reporting of insights and effectiveness
  • Work with Marketing Directors to derive insights, beyond basic reporting on their respective areas of the business
  • Develop a multi-dimensional segmentation strategy, and implementation across the marketing databases
  • Assist with lead-generation campaigns and/or direct marketing programs being created/better defined
  • Identify and target customer populations for direct marketing campaigns (email, mail, etc.) that provide maximum ROI and generate buy-in for targeting decisions
  • Manage and support a robust Testing Plan for media and marketing initiatives, including multi-variate tests
  • Manage all aspects of the marketing database that includes leads, contacts, opportunities, accounts, dashboards and reporting
  • Continually refine the database by mining the data for valuable insights
  • Provide clear visibility and segmentation of target companies and prospects
  • Proactively work with third party vendors or internal sources for data and database; identifies new vendor opportunities as needed to improve marketing program performance
  • Generate insights which improve the customer experience, drive customer acquisition, and secure customer retention
  • Set standards for ideas, development, execution, and optimization of marketing campaigns designed to reduce de-activations, drive loyalty and increase revenues

Minimum Skills and Competencies:

  • Bachelor Degree or in-lieu of degree equivalent education, training and work-related experience
  • 6+ years of experience in Analytics, finance, database or direct marketing
  • Experience in insurance, e-commerce or retail industries or related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable and profitable marketing opportunities
  • Good understanding of financial data, operations data and CRM/database marketing concepts and platforms
  • Proven ability to innovate, lead projects and develop strategies in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience managing agency or vendor relationships, as well as working cross-functionally with internal teams
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish working relationships with individuals at varying levels within the organization
  • High degree of initiative, mature judgment, and discretion
  • Works independently with little supervision
  • Ability to adapt to new situations and learn quickly
  • Proven ability to manage a team and a budget process
  • Must be able and willing to travel 5+% of the time

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing, strategy or a related field
  • Prior Management experience.
