Typical responsibilities include:

• Configuring & implementing Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) versions 5 and 6 based information systems
• Security engineering support for technical implementation of security solutions comprised of COTS, FOSS, and custom products
• Leading/performing evaluation efforts for the technical implementation of security solutions comprised of COTS as well as custom developed products
• Preparing for and/or leading Security Test & Evaluation activities for program sell-off of security related requirements
• Applying knowledge of current IA policies as a contributor to the architecture and design of secure solutions
• Compliance to security directive assessments review and documentation
• Preparing for, writing, and presentingtrade studies, cost benefit analyses,reports and briefings asrequired

Required Skills and Certifications:

• 5+ years of hands-on administration experience on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) O/S system relating to servers and workstations
• Experience working with cyber security engineering projects and programs for U.S. Government and/or commercial clients
• 4+ years of demonstrated technical experience in cyber security
• Strong understanding of security design and architecture
• 3+ years of practical experience verification of hardening IT systems in compliance with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification – CISSP and Security +
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, to include weekends, with short notification

Desired Skills and Certifications:

• Ability to understand and modify scripts in languages such as bash, Perl, Python, and Ruby
• Demonstrated capability to perform system builds using automated DevOps tools (Chef, Puppet, or Ansible)
• Technical knowledge in satellite ground systems, including hardware, software, and communications architecture
• Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance
• Six Sigma Certification

Required Education:

6 years with a BS in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics or related technical degree; 4 years with a MS in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics or related technical degree or an additional 14 years of related work experience in lieu of a degree
