PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Sr. Credit Analyst within Treasury is responsible for risk assessment (underwriting) and accounts receivable portfolio management for strategic customer base(s) in a manner that maximizes business cash flow, working capital and profits while incurring an appropriate amount of risk and maintaining customer goodwill. This role is also responsible for driving continuous improvement and will require project leadership. Alignment with the Credit Manager and Business/Sales Leaders on tolerance for risk, customer relationship management, and strategic direction is required.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrates compliance with personal safety action plan
  • Adhere to Owens Corning safety policies at all times

Perform financial analysis and risk / return assessments on current and potential customer accounts that are strategic to the success of the business

  • Complete customer set up and account maintenance requests thoroughly and in a timely manner
  • Perform risk assessment updates in accordance with standard process and timing
  • Develop creative alternatives to enhance sales while minimizing risk
  • Monitor key external indicators that influence the business segments in order to anticipate market conditions
  • Minimize bad debt risk and maximize accounts receivable collections

Prepare monthly A/R updates and quarterly business reviews of the portfolio(s) and present to the business management team

  • Insightful conclusions drawn from analytics and balanced with business objectives
  • Materials that drive understanding, action, and follow-up
  • High quality data integrity

Deliver results in cash and accounts receivable aligned with OC financial objectives

  • Provide leadership to develop actions plans and work with others (e.g., the Collections and Sales teams) to maximize results
  • Optimize past due and percent current metrics
  • Maintain compliance with requiredinternal controls and policies

Demonstrate proficiency in risk mitigation techniques

  • Utilize credit instruments to protect our investments in accounts receivable (e.g., security, guaranties, lien rights)
  • Knowledge of UCC, creditor’s rights, and Terms & Conditions considerations. Utilize legal and third party collection resources, as appropriate.
  • Bad Debt expense and bad debt write off analysis

Project Leadership

  • Lead or participate in cross functional projects that support the team’s goals and initiatives
  • Typical project work may relate to customer value add, efficiency, controls or process improvement opportunities

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related degree; MBA preferred
  • 5+ years Finance, Accounting or Credit/Accounts Receivable experience

Experience:

  • Working knowledge of Business Intelligence and SAP Credit Management – preferred
  • Demonstrated rate of growth and success in prior roles
  • Demonstrated ability to be successful in a fast-paced and dynamic, team-oriented environment
  • Ability to respond quickly to the demands of the moment. Remains productive and effective in a variety of environments
